Letter To Prioritise Senzo Meyiwa Murder Trial: Presidency Reacts To Zandie Khumalo

The Presidency of South Africa has just responded to a letter written by Zandie Khumalo in the ongoing Senzo Meyiwa murder trial, describing her as ill-advised in her action.

Just recently, and as we reported, Zandie Khumalo had written a letter to President Cyril Ramaphosa, advising him on how to speed up the process in the murder case of the former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper who was murdered in 2014.

Senzo had been killed at the Vosloorus family home of Kelly Khumalo, Zandie’s sister, and Zandie was actually in the same house with Kelly and their mother at the time the footballer was killed. It was initially thought to be a robbery gone wrong. But the public isn’t buying that t this point.

In her letter, among Others, Zandie had made some requests, Including having people specifically saddled to take care of the case and a specific court for the hearing at selected times.

Speaking on Zandie’s letter that the Presidency should prioritise Senzo Meyiwa’smurder trial, President Cyril Ramaphosa’s spokesperson Vincent Magwenya clarified that the Presidency neither manages nor directs the affairs of the court and her writing to the Presidency is therefore ill-advised.

Zandie Khumalo was yet to react to the verdict from the presidency at the time of writing.
