When you have done well in your field, most people are ready to go to “war” on your behalf. We see this reality play out again and again.
Well, the same reality played out with actress Josephine Langford, who was the protagonist in the series “After Everything.” She had played the role in previous seasons but wasn’t given the role in the fifth and final season.
When it was released on Wednesday, September 13, fans realized it wasn’t what they were expecting, and most of them expressed displeasure over the absence of the actress as the protagonist.
An explanation currently circulating online is that she had signed a contract for four movies and that was when the movie was supposed to end, But that the producers opted to make it five – something one unimpressed fan mockingly called a cash-grab venture. Josephine was absolved of any blame in the whole saga.
Of course, her case is not even unique, as the movie industry is replete with similar cases – actors and actresses not continuing in their roles for one reason or another whereas the series is still being produced. It didn’t start today and will certainly not end tomorrow. That is the reality of the industry.
