CONGRESSMAN TO CONDUCT FIRST-EVER LIVE FACEBOOK RESPONSE TO STATE OF THE UNION

The South Carolina Congressman who shouted “you lie” at President Barack Obama during an address to a joint session of Congress in September will refrain from any outbursts during Wednesday’s State of the Union. But he will be using Facebook to offer his thoughts on the president’s speech.

U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson told McClatchy Newspapers on Tuesday that he would would be on his best behavior during Obama’s address and that he will be quiet this go-round.

“That was a one-time incident,” Wilson said. “I will continue, through my agreement with the White House, to discuss issues civilly.”

Wilson will instead use the social networking site Facebook to respond to the speech and take questions live via streaming video.

The Congressman said he plans to use Facebook to call on Obama and the Democrat-controlled Congress to stop their government-takeover of health care and instead focus on job creation.

“Joe Wilson is using every tool at his disposal to get Washington to start listening to the American people,” said Wilson Campaign Manager, Dustin Olson. “Whether on Facebook or over coffee in South Carolina diners, [he] is taking the message of everyday Americans to Washington: ‘Stop growing government and start growing jobs.”

question is when is Joe Wilson going to start listening to the American people, especially his constituents?
