South African boy band Blaq Diamond may have left controversial record label Ambitiouz Entertainment in a wave of acrimony, but there is no stopping the group at this point. The collective is set to collaborate with amapiano producer DJ Maphorisa.
In a post on Instagram, the group shared slides of them with the “Gqom Wave” producer. In the caption, they pointed out that DJ Maphorisa was one of the earliest to believe in them, and this was even before they signed a contract.
The years have passed and now they would be releasing something with the muso. They gave no details on whether fans should expect an album or a single. Blaq Dioamond and DJ Maphorisa have a different focus in music. While the former is mostly focused on Afro-pop, the latter is currently focused on amapiano. Lawd Porry was previously a gqom producer. But a meeting with Wizkid, who liked the Yanos sound, inspired the muso to take piano music seriously. He has not looked back since.
