#Backyardsession: AKA & Costa Titch On Musical Synergy, Making “You’re Welcome” Album & More

Have you ever wondered about the making of the album “You’re Welcome” by AKA and Costa Titch? Well, the pair has detailed just that in a recent interview appearance.

Before he started working with AKA, Costa Titch was previously described as a protégé of Cassper Nyovest, AKA’s biggest rap adversary to date. In fact, at some point, Titch was part of Cassper Nyovest’s dancers.

Anyway, life happened and Titch now appears to be on the other side, spiting his bars alongside Kiernan.

Before the pair dropped the project proper, they had wowed fans with their musical synergy with “Super Soft,” one of the tracks in the project.

Their musical connection, as well as what inspired them to make their first collaborative album ever, formed part of the subjects of their discussion with Slikour on the set of Backyard Sessions.

The pair also addresses the narrative that South African hip hop is dead. In case you missed it, before the interview, Costa Titch was one of those who had criticized Cassper Nyovest for ditching hip hop for amapiano. He’d even asked the “Amademoni” star to stay away, having jumped ship.

The details from AKA and Costa regarding their first joint album, including their thoughts about South African hip hop, are documented in the video interview below.
