GET SC STATUS QUO UPDATES ON TWITTER

The South Carolina lobbyist and political consultant known for his extremely dirty campaign tactics and destroying the Republican Party, is bringing his status quo cronyism to Twitter.

Warren Tompkins has created an account on the microblogging service and posted his first tweet on Tuesday.

The tweet linked to a blog post titled “Look out Fido, You’re next” that blames liberals for raising taxes. The blog post didn’t mention that Tompkins has given thousands to those very same tax-raising liberals in the South Carolina Senate Democratic Caucus.

On the blog — and presumably in future tweets — Tompkins brags about his conservative credentials.

But that’s coming from the same guy who has unapologetically admitted that was behind the ruthless attacks on Arizona Sen. John McCain during the 2000 presidential primary, when he was working for then-Gov. George W. Bush and has even been credited with causing the downfall of the GOP, among other things.

So I certainly look forward to following Tompkins on Twitter.
