STATE PARTY TO GET NEW TOP STAFFER

The South Carolina Republican Party has a new top staffer, The Palmetto Scoop has learned.

SCGOP Chairman Karen Floyd has named parliamentarian Todd Kincannon the party’s new executive director. Kincannon, a Simpsonville native who practices law in Columbia, has served as parliamentarian since 2004.

Current Executive Director Ryan Meerstein, who has served as Floyd’s right-hand man since she became chairman in May, will reportedly be taking a job with a campaign in Ohio.

“Ryan is one of the brightest, most talented and most dedicated individuals I have ever worked with, so it goes without saying that he will be missed by me and by Republican activists across the state,” Floyd said. “Ryan has done a great job here, and I know he will do a great job in Ohio as well.”

The change will take place sometime before Christmas. A formal announcement is expected later Monday afternoon.

What a wonderful choice for the SCGOP! Just what we need — youth, energy, intelligence, and a natural born leader. I hope Mr. Kincannon continues to serve the party as its Executive Director for years to come!

Finally, the Republicans get some brains behind all of that money and fanaticism. I wish Mr. Kincannon well, the SCGOP will be better for having him. The way he stands behind that podium he looks like a lawyer (hey nobody’s perfect).

They really could not have picked a better choice. Todd is the kind of young leader who can really influence the direction of the party in a positive way.

one order of business for todd to look into is if scgop victory is funding wes donahue’s trip to texas to help terry sullivan’s candidate kay bailey hutchison. she is a RINO. sc republican money should not go to this.

Ryan Meerstein is the man! I’m sorry to see him go! He did well for the SCGOP during the most difficult circumstances Republicans have faced in this State. We’re going to miss him!

Ryan was an excellent exec. dir, myself and many other on the executive committee will miss him and his dedicated service. Todd is an excellent choice to replace Ryan. The SCGOP will not miss a beat during the transition.

don’t believe the tompkins crowd has been given unfair influence at sc republican party?

    look at facts.

tompkins’ diaper boy wes donehue is paid to work in the governor race for gresham barrett. he is working against andre bauer, nikki haley, henry mcmaster and larry grooms. proof is here: wes is filming a campaign video for gresham barrett. he is pictured here. http://www.flickr.com/photos/greshambarrett/4128648128/the video is here that he was working on. http://www.greshambarrett.com/home/2009/11/boeing-new-jobs-new-opportunities/

while he is working against republican governor candidates, he is paid to do the scgop’s website. his ugly mug is here http://www.youtube.com/SCGOPTV go to the ethics commission website to see how much he is paid to both work at the scgop and against republican governor candidates.

why is the republican party allowing this to go on? todd kincannon needs to pay attention immediate on the facts. the days of making deals with the tompkins crowd need to end. the karen regime has been wrong to do this. they know this is going. does congressman bob inglis appreciate the scgop team paying the people who are trying to take him out with the trey gowdy crowd?

Yes. Let’s all side with a guy who denied choice to voters in Aiken County… From Greenville. I guess that’s what you GOPers like – no choice.

The SCGOP serves a small and select group of people. The rank and file small donors to the party are fools if they the GOP cares bout them. It is all about inside baseball, and if you are not on the inside, you are nobody. 99% of us are nobodies.
