RETAILERS LOOK TO EXTEND ‘BLACK FRIDAY’ SALES TO INTERNET
If “Black Friday” wasn’t enough to stimulate your inner-Capitalist, then you’re in luck because Monday is “Cyber Monday” — the online equivalent of the year’s best shopping deals.
A conglomeration of retailers and, well, retailers have teamed up to extend sales similar to those that were offered the day after Thanksgiving.
CyberMonday.com is the hub of the savings, most of which expire at 6 p.m. Monday. From there, you can get everything from free shipping at American Eagle to 60 percent off at Toys R’ Us.
As I noted last year, Cyber Monday began in 2005 when the National Retail Federation got bored and wanted to help people buy things while sitting at home in their underwear. Well, in the words of former President George W. Bush, mission accomplished!
