6-YEAR-OLD PRODIGY LEVELS OPPOSITION

Years of mediocre football seasons at the University of South Carolina can be blamed on a few things, not the least of which has been recruiting.

Sure, the Gamecock coaching staff can always land a few high school standouts that turn into college stars, but consistently putting together a full team of top-notch talent has been difficult in Columbia.

So today, I’m doing my part to help.

The above video is of 6-year-old Nyrell Sevilla of Huntington, NY. As you can see by the two hits he lays down, Sevilla is a football prodigy.

In one play, he sneaks up on the unsuspecting quarterback and levels him. On another, he runs all the way across the field to jack up a runner a full five feet into the air.

And he’s only six… so that gives the Gamecocks a full 12 years to begin wooing this kid. If I were head coach Steve Spurrier, I would be buying my plane ticket right now.

This is pretty sad to show. The first hit it seemed like the play was dead. The second hit was close to hitting out of bounds..
