CONGRESSMAN BLOGS ‘ANALYSIS’ OF SELF, GOP OPPONENTS

Just when you thought Congressman Bob Inglis couldn’t get any more odd, think again.

The man known for his exotic taxpayer-funded vacations, his goat-laden Christmas cards and his disco dancing parties took the crazy one step further Monday by posting a detailed “analysis” of himself and his five Republican primary opponents on his campaign blog. And it’s about what you would expect from Inglis.

Dubbing himself “the incumbent in challenging times,” Inglis began by listing his own strengths and weaknesses.

Of course, his weaknesses including such things as “waits until he’s certain that he’s right” and “Reacts harshly to pseudo-conservatives and to people who don’t think things through.”

Right…

After posting flattering quotes about himself, Inglis then laid into his challengers.

He went after Spartanburg Solicitor Trey Gowdy for saying, “I’m a Bob Inglis kind of guy, I’m with you,” in February, then launching a campaign against him three months later. State Sen. David Thomas was attacked for investigating Gov. Mark Sanford over allegations that he broke state law.

Inglis dismissed proverbial opponent Christina Jeffries by saying “She served briefly as House Historian until Speaker Newt Gingrich relieved her of those duties following a controversy over some of her writings.”

But, perhaps most, interestingly, Inglis seemingly endorsed a fringe candidate in the race.

“If I had to lose this race, I’d want to lose to Mauldin businessman Jim Lee,” Inglis wrote. “I’m impressed by the spirit he brings to the race and by the soundness of his positions. He’s a committed Believer who’s in this race for all the right reasons.”

Umm… what?

This is just the tip of sample, though. To really appreciate the insanity of Bob Inglis, you have to read the entire cathartic Internet couch session by clicking here.

    Ingils is a great representative.

Now is Jeffrey a “proverbial opponent” or a perennial opponent?

Which candidate is the firm you are working for supporting? Gowdy right?

Might want to have that disclaimer at the bottom of your crazy posts.

For all Mr. Inglis’ many faults, he finally said something factually accurate. Jim Lee is the one candidate who is running because he is sick of watching career politicians rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic as she sinks and then claim that they did all they could at the time. He is running so that “We, the People,” will once again have both a voice and a conservative voice in congress. He is not running to further his career. In fact, he is putting his career on hold in order to pursue a greater calling.

    Respectfully,
    Paul

It’s really a shame we don’t have recall in SC.
