AUTHORITIES LOOKING FOR BLACK BMW IN DEADLY SHOOTING

A 20-month-old girl is among three people killed Monday night during a drive-by shooting in Walterboro.

Police say six more people were injured when a car pulled up to a stop sign on McDaniel Street and opened fire on the house where family members were sitting outside watching football and playing cards.

“All I saw was a car pull up to a stop sign and start firing,” relative Lamont Kittrell told WTOC-TV. “We were just all on the porch playing cards, watching the football game and a car came up the street and started shooting by the house.”

Killed in the shooting were 45-year-old Charles Kittrell, 21-year-old Christopher Powell and 20-month-old Shaniyah Burden.

Authorities did not name any suspects and said they are looking for a black BMW with one headlight out. With more than 20 gangs based in Colleton County, there is a strong possibility that the shootings were gang-related.
