COLUMBIA COLLEGE STUDENT ARRESTED FOR SETTING OFF ‘EXPLOSIVES’ ON CAMPUS
When 19-year-old Amber Willbur lit up a firecracker on the Columbia College campus Monday to celebrate her birthday, she apparently thought it would be no big deal. But school officials thought otherwise.
Willbur was arrested and charged with disturbing school. She also faces felony charges for bringing explosives on campus.
Columbia College Police Chief Howard Cook told WACH-TV that the explosion “alarmed a lot of students, staff, and faculty.”
Cook said Willbur could face additional charges after police found two hunting knives and more fireworks in her dorm room.
Willbur was booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, where she stayed for 8 hours. When she was released, she was informed that she had been banned from campus.
School administrators will hold a hearing to determine whether Willbur will be expelled from school.
In terms of sheer stupidity, I would put her slightly ahead of the deadly burrito thrower.

Setting off a firecracker on campus was not very smart thing to do but expulsion from school is very extreme. I do not know what her record on campus is but she should be given another chance. I am 72 years old, went to college many years ago and much worse things were done in my day. I understand we are living in a different time but some common sense still needs to be used in this situation.
Rules are rules and rules are made to be followed without question. She caused the college to spend time;man power and expense to respond to a childish action. She has shown that she lacks the maturity to be in college and thus should receive the harshish punishment allowed. Attending college is a privilege that many do not get and her lack of forethought has shown that she is not worthy of that privilege…
Some people have sh … iite for brains. Poor girl was just trying to make a joke.
Get a freakin; life darksied!! Maybe we should send her to Gitmo and waterboard her.
