USC, WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT, UNDER ARMOUR TEAM UP FOR SPECIAL PROMOTION
When the University of South Carolina meets SEC rival Florida for a much-anticipated football showdown next month, the Gamecocks will be wearing some new uniforms for a good cause.
USC athletic director Eric Hyman announced Tuesday that the Gamecocks will don camouflage uniforms for the game, which takes place three days after Veteran’s Day.
The uniforms are part of a promotion to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, which is a nonprofit advocacy group for injured service men and women. The organization also provides various services and programs for veterans.
“This is an amazing platform that will help us let others know about what we do and why honoring and empowering wounded warriors is so important,” Steven Nardizzi, executive director of the Wounded Warrior Project, said in a statement.
The apparel company Under Armour will be providing all of the jerseys — many of which will be auctioned off after the game. The company will also sell team gear with the Wounded Warrior logo at college bookstores and Garnet and Black Traditions at Jewelry Warehouse with a portion of the proceeds going to the Wounded Warrior Project.

It makes me so happy to know that our guys are not only helping this very worthy cause, but they are making their support so very visible. In so doing, they are sending a message to veterans that they really do have their backs and to the youth who follow the SC and Florida teams, that real men support their country and also support the men who have given so much of themselves to keep us free.
Thank you USC, and Under Armour for this wonderful project.
