SACRIFICIAL DEMS STEP UP FOR SLAUGHTER
With his almost endless string of television appearances fueling relatively high approval ratings, Democrats are having a hard time fielding a candidate to run against Sen. Jim DeMint next October.
But that doesn’t mean DeMint will run completely unopposed. The Greenville News reported Tuesday that two men have stepped up to challenge the freshman Senator in the general election.
Jim Watkins, chairman of the York County Democratic Party, said Monday that Rock Hill lawyer Chad McGowan has told party leaders he intends to run against DeMint.
“Later on, you’ll hear a lot more about it,” Watkins told The Greenville News. McGowan couldn’t be reached.
A second Democrat, retired Ford Motor Co. manager Mike Ruckes of Summerville, previously announced a campaign. Ruckes said Monday he welcomes McGowan to the race.
DeMint has more than $2.5 million in his bank account and is only a few “I hate Barack Obama” fundraising letters away from a couple million more. So to call these two sacrificial lambs would be an understatement.
But I wish them the best, anyway. Who knows, maybe DeMint will send them a copy of his book “Saving Silverman” — or whatever the hell it’s called — for their effort.

HEY DEMS, CALL YOU ACORN BUDDIES AND BRING IT ON!
I wouldn’t count Chad McGowan out just yet. Oh, BTW, Craig, you are so witty! But let me ask you, why do you hate freedom?
