More Trouble For Shauwn Mkhize As SARS Obtains Court Order For Her To Pay R37 Million In Taxes

The drama between South African entrepreneur and socialite Shauwn Mkhize and the country’s revenue authority, the South African Revenue Service (SARS), is not over yet. But things don’t appear to be going the way of the businesswoman.

The case between the two is currently in court, with the businesswoman reportedly asked to pay Pay R37 million and R12.7 million tax bill.  The first figure is her tax bill and the second reflects the unpaid tax bill.

In sum, she reportedly owes the resume body almost R50 million in taxes – a hefty sum by South African standards but perhaps not as hefty for a woman of Shawn Mkhize’s financial sinews.

Three days ago, On Monday, October 6, the businesswoman was slapped with a court order for her to pay millions in unpaid taxes to the revenue body. She had reportedly been dodging taxes for a while.

But then, this is not even the first time she has been at war with the taxman. The SARS has previously reportedly obtained a judgment against her in the past to seize her movable properties and other assets to pay for the tax debt to the body.

It remains to be seen how the whole fight will pan out ultimately.
