COLUMBIA STATION CONCEDES INFLUENCE OF BLOGS, AIRS 4-MINUTE PACKAGE

It isn’t very often that mainstream media acknowledge the existence of blogs.

Blogs may provide traditional journalists with an increasing amount story leads and information, but many belittle them as illegitimate because they are not held to the same ethical standards.

WIS-TV in Columbia Monday chose to concede the influence of blogs in South Carolina by airing a four-minute package on political blogs. Although, they did so by asking the question, “are they factual?”

I won’t necessarily comment on the piece other than to say that I could probably ask them the same question.
