MCMASTER GETS FIRST-HAND LOOK AT HEALTH CARE IN SC
Attorney General Henry McMaster made a visit to the Medical University of South Carolina’s Children’s hospital Monday to get a first-hand look at health care in South Carolina.
The gubernatorial candidate tour the facilities to get insight on the critical issue that is dominating national policy debates.
“The question is what we do with the resources we have, with the laws that we have what can we make better and that’s what we need to do,” McMaster said.
McMaster’s visit to the Lowcountry didn’t end before addressing members of Charleston County’s Republican Party where he received a warm welcome. He spoke of his record as a prosecutor and his plan for lowering the state’s 11.8% unemployment rate.
He hopes to utilize South Carolina’s three research universities for innovations that could create jobs, a tough task considering the current economy. [WCIV]
McMaster launched his campaign for governor last month. He has unveiled a 10 point “Path to Prosperity” as a key cornerstone of his platform.
