CONGRESSMAN SORRY FOR CONTEXT BUT NOT FOR COMMENT

A South Carolina Congressman who became a household name Wednesday night after calling President Barack Obama a liar during a nationally-televised joint session of Congress is responding to the massive media attention garnered by his actions.

Rep. Joe Wilson released a 95 second YouTube video Thursday evening reaffirming his apology to Obama

“Today, I need your help more than ever before,” Wilson said. “I’ve been under attack by the liberals for months and they’ve done everything they can to quiet my very vocal opposition to more government interference in Americans’ lives. Now, it’s gotten even worse, but I will not stop fighting against their policies that will only lead to more government interference, more spending, and higher deficits.”

Wilson said he apologized for the timing of the comment, but not the comment itself.

“I should not have disrespected the President during his speech,” said Wilson. “But I am not sorry for fighting back against the dangerous policies of liberal Democrats. I will not back down.”

Wilson’s opponent has used the opportunity to raise more than $200,000, but Sen. Lindsey Graham has vowed not to let the Congressman get beat next November.

Wilson is asking supporters to make a donation to re-election campaign. You can do so by clicking here.

    Do they apologize.
Did Sgt. Crowley of Cambridge, MA get an apology?
Did the Cambridge MA PD get an apology?
Did the police in general get an apologize?
    NO!
We have a double standard here.
The American people want the truth from their leaders, especially their President.
    He is not doing that.

Joe Wilson is a poor reflection of the great state of South Carolina to the rest of the nation and an embarrassment to the dignity of our national government. He reached a new low.

Take heart, citizens of South Carolina! Between Wilson and Sanford, you’re keeping the other 49 states highly entertained. Now that the Alaska freakshow is on hiatus, you’re on top!

I am disgusted with you and embarrassed that you are an elected official. HE WAS NOT LYING. You are acting like the childish crybabies at your ridiculous town hall meetings. YOU ARE A MEMBER OF THE UNITED STATES CONGRESS, SIR! ACT LIKE ONE.

I am ashamed that you represent the people of South Carolina. I don’t even live there and I feel sorry that you represent them. You are an adult, but choose to act like a Pre-K child. The fact check on Fox News showed that you were the liar. You made the headlines for all the wrong reasons. I don’t see anything positive coming out of what you did yesterday. Ignorance use to be condemned and now it’s your platform….building on quicksand I say……
