GOVERNOR TO HOLD 3:30 PRESS CONFERENCE
On the heels of recent requests from South Carolina House Speaker Bobby Harrell and the House Republican Caucus that disgraced Gov. Mark Sanford step down, the state GOP Thursday will consider issuing a similar plea.
CNN’s Peter Hamby reported that State Republican Party Chairman Karen Floyd is expected to seek a resolution calling for Sanford to resign during a Thursday evening conference call with the SCGOP executive committee.
The 5 p.m. call will be similar to one held in July that resulted in Floyd censuring the governor. That call was rather heated and somewhat divisive, but it is expected this call will be somewhat more unanimous.
The governor’s office advised media Thursday that it would hold a 3:30 p.m. press conference in Columbia to “shed light on recent political developments.” It is unclear if Sanford will address any of the recent demands that he leave office.
Sanford has come under increasing pressure to resign after allegations that he used state aircraft for personal travel, violated state law by using high-priced airfare, and didn’t report the use of private aircraft. The State Ethics Commission is investigating the claims and is expected to release it’s findings soon.
On Tuesday, House Speaker Bobby Harrell called for the governor’s resignation, saying, “for the good of our state, Sanford should step aside.”
The following day, the State House Republican Caucus sent Sanford a letter signed by 61 or 73 members asking that he resign.
Republicans are older white males mostly, who will stay in power at any cost. They could care less about anyone other than themselves. The vast majority of Republicans are ‘god fearing’ , holier than thou objects owned 100% by the lobbyist that pay them millions in legal kick backs if they stab the middle class in the back, session after session after session.
For years he and all the (weekly) righteous republicans affair makers asked for the resignation of ANYONE that ‘lost the trust of the public’, but Lord Lord, when it comes to applying the same rule to them, they say ‘Whhhaaaattttt” ???? Ha

You mean the woman that took $125,000 of taxpayer money from Andre Bauer to market Senior Shield? Her efforts returned about 4,000 to Senior Shield.
$125,000 – 4,000= $121,000 LOSS.
Bauer and Floyd are not very good stewards of the taxpayers dollars.
Now, these two geniuses are the prime movers behind ousting Sanford. Wonder how much money Governor Bauer can send to Floyd when he get the larger pot of money?
