SENATOR PRETENDS TO CLAP, RUBS HANDS TOGETHER INSTEAD

Republican Members of Congress Wednesday night were put in a rather difficult position of having to listen to President Barack Obama spin his health care reform platform while biting their tongues in front of dozens of television cameras.

Most did so without issue.

Some, like South Carolina Congressman Joe Wilson — who yelled out “you lie” at the president during a section of the speech on insuring illegal immigrants — were more vocal in disagreeing.

Others, such Sen. Lindsey Graham, used a more subtle method to show their disapproval of Obama’s remarks.

When Obama compared his proposal’s “public option” to public universities competing with private schools, Graham looked like he was about to clap. But just moments before impact, he pump faked the president and rubbed his hands together instead.

No word yet whether liberals were outraged by the move.

Could it be that he agreed with the President and then realized he wasn’t supposed to? hmmm

Just don’t sit in front of Gaham when he starts pumping–fake or not!

Sure looked to me like he was about to clap in agreement before remembering to follow the right wing playbook: oppose the President in all he does, no matter how sensible or agreeable the issue might be.

The backlash against such blind obstructionism is going to be so great and widespread. ATTENTION REACTIONARY CONSERVATIVES: prepare to be a fringe political movement for some time to come!
