STARS OF TPS’ FAVORITE SHOW ANNOUNCE THAT THEY’RE GETTING HITCHED
The stars of one of The Palmetto Scoop’s current favorite television shows, HBO’s “True Blood,” are getting hitched.
People magazine reported Wednesday that stars Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin — long rumored to have carried their on-screen romance over into real life — have gotten engaged.
The two have been together since February 24 of this year. Paquin, who plays telepathic Sookie Stackhouse on “True Blood,” is originally from New Zealand and won a 1994 supporting actress Oscar for her role as the precocious child in “The Piano.”
Moyer, from Essex, England, plays bloodsucking Bill Compton on the series. He also has two children from previous relationships: a son, Billy, born in 2000, and a daughter, Lilac, born in 2002.
Last month, Paquin, 27, said of her nude love scenes with Moyer, 39: “Obviously, if you’re already with that person then you’re not having to sort of get over the ‘Wow, I’m naked with someone that I don’t even know the middle name of!’ “
All I can say is that I hope the fact that they’re getting married will mean they’ll tone down the sappy romantic stuff that has gotten a little out of control this season.
“I love you Sookie.”
“No, I love you more Bill.”
“Oh no, Sookie, I could never live without you. And I love you.”
“Oh Bill, I love you too. Now won’t you bite me? No, really, bite me.”
Seriously, if I wanted to watch that, I would turn to Lifetime. I watch True Blood for the gory fight scenes, the hot naked women, and the otherwise excellent writing.
