FMR. GAMECOCK COACH MAY RUN AS A REPUBLICAN IN FLORIDA

Former South Carolina football coach turned anti-Gamecock ESPN pundit Lou Holtz is considering running for Congress in Florida, according to media reports.

The Associated Press and a number of other outlets reported that a local strategist confirmed Holtz is mulling a run as a Republican in the state’s 24th district against freshman incumbent Democrat Suzanne Kosmas.

The district has a Cook Partisan Voting Index score of R+4, suggesting a Republican would have a slight advantage in a general election.

The 72-year-old Holtz went 33-37 in six seasons with the Gamecocks before joining ESPN as a college football analyst in 2004. He has never run for elected office.

The last time Lou ran for something in Florida, was when the Gators clobber his white butt 72 to zip! No doubt Lou will be using the infamous Republican defense, Punt on first and head for the lockerroom!
