RODELL VEREEN CHARGED WITH BUGGERY FOR 2ND TIME IN 3 YEARS

For the second time in as many days, South Carolina is making national headlines for a messed-up story involving a horse.

Tuesday, it was a woman in Six Mile allegedly getting drunk, stealing a horse and tying it up at a gas station.

Wednesday, it was a guy in Longs getting arrested for having sex with a horse at an Horry County stable for, get this, the second time in the last three years. No… for real.

Rodell Vereen, 50, is charged with buggery and trespassing after a woman who owns Lazy B Stables on Coates Road in the Wampee section of Horry County told officers she caught the suspect having sex with a horse.

“That stable was my getaway, my stress relief,” said Barbara Kenley, who has owned the stable for 20 years. “Everybody has a place they like to go to get away. Now it is totally destroyed. It is the only thing I have in life.”

Vereen pleaded guilty to buggery on July 21, 2008, and was sentenced to three years of probation, ordered to undergo mental health counseling, and told not to go near Lazy B Stables after he was caught having sex with a horse on Thanksgiving Day of 2007, according to the 15th Judicial Circuit.

“I have a false sense of security right now,” Kenley said. “When they arrested him before I thought that was the end of it. Now all of my insecurities are back. I can’t go out there at certain times because I am afraid.”

Kenley said she can’t afford a security system for the stables. She said she spent several hundred dollars on the video surveillance system that was used to identify Vereen.

“In 20 years I’ve never had a problem like this,” Kenley said. “I never knew people did such a thing.”

Kenley said Vereen was having sex with a 21-year-old horse named Sugar. Kenley said the horse is being treated for infections related to the incidents.

My Middle English is a little slack, but I always thought “buggery” was what you called an ornery old man. I guess I was WAY off on that one.

And, umm… the horse’s name was Sugar? I’m going to go ahead and leave that one alone. Actually, I’m just going to stop right here before I throw up.

All I’m going to say is, this guy is going to have a hell of a time in prison. Seriously… I wish him good luck with that.

I really didn’t want to know this. It’s like a bad redneck joke come true … but maybe we should tell the folks up in Ohio so maybe they’ll stay away?

I’m wondering if the man was using ‘tampons’? Ya know the ads on TV say that when ya use ‘em, you can swim, play tennis and ride horses……

The man obviously needs serious mental health counseling and to be honest, the Judge is responsible from the first event since he did nothing to address the man’s mental illness.
    Poor horse.

How does a guy have sex with a horse and how does he get a horse to want to do that?

If he wants to get a horse to put out for him, then maybe he should ask my ex-wife nicely?
