FACEBOOK GROUPS PUSHES DEAD MOBSTER’S CANDIDACY OVER CURRENT COUNCILMAN
Folks in York County are fed up with the well-publicized antics of a local councilman, and they’re turning to one of America’s most infamous mobsters for help.
A new group launched on the social networking site Facebook is promoting a write-in campaign for Al Capone for York County Council.
The point? Even a notorious gangster who has been dead for more than 60 years would be better than current First District Councilman Paul Lindemann of Tega Cay.
“If you cannot support someone, write in Capone,” the site proclaims. “[It] can’t get any worse.”
The site boasts that Capone’s “Chicago type politics” would actually be a step in the right direction for York County.
But while it may seem like a joke, the movement to oust Lindemann is very real.
“Our councilman has been in the news for nothing positive for a year and a half,” said the groups’ creator Joe St. John, who ran Lindemann’s first county council campaign. “If he can get away with that, then Capone should be elected. He should have resigned earlier.”
The group was formed after news that Lindemann was being sued for allegedly stiffing a contractor for work on a home that he owns — something the group members saw as the final straw.
In September 2008, Lindemann gained national infamy when MSNBC host Keith Olbermann named him the second worst person in the world for driving to a council meeting with a suspended license. The license was suspended after Lindemann received his second DUI charge.
Lindemann had a prior conviction of driving with a suspended license that made last year’s incident all the more problematic.
According to Carolina Politics Online, he has also had legal run-ins resulting from “a domestic dispute outside the house of a woman who is not his wife or writing over $10,000 worth of bad checks to political rallies.”
Funny how everything Joe St.John have accussed me of he has already been CAUGHT!!!!! ADULTRY (ASHLEY RUSSEL), OWING MONEY (CHRISTIAN HINES), ACHOHOL (SEEN FIRST HAND)!!! Time to call the kettle BLACK JOE and OWN UP and stop running off at the mouth!!!!

Stay classy Paul…. yet again shifting blame to others, not admitting to your faults. when are you going to realize, you moron, that’s whats got you in this mess in the first place… DUI, Bad Checks, Court Judgements, civil lawsuits… I could give a crap about adultery, when looking at your faults it pales in comparison. When will you realize that people want your resignation, and until you admit your wrongs, no one will take you at your word.
Wake up Paul! The difference here is that you are an elected official and thusly should be held to a higher standard than Joe St.John. Joe is an average citizen and you sir hold the public trust and you have let them down.. You are a theif and an all around piece of crap! You should be behind bars and hopefully that day will come. I am sick and tired of elected officials thinking they can do anything they want and it doesnt matter.. You SIR are scum plain and simple. the voters are smart enough to see thru your tactyic of trying to shift the attention onto others.. I fail to see where Joe St. John has anything to do with the Lindemann problem. Should be glad he was able to help you get your seat but seems that you have had problems following the ethics law for elected officials. Joe is not an elected official and should not have to reveal his skeletons, as we all have in our closets. Jabbing back at someone does not show professionalism in anyway, Mr. Lindemann.
Paul, ye olde counter accuse ruse is a bit long in tooth and not effective. You should man up and resign. You’ve committed criminal acts, you have been convicted, albeit by pleading to a lesser charge.
You created your problems, you have let all of us down. Your attack on Joe St. John is simply a strawman argument designed to shift focus from you, and we are not taking the bait.
Real men do the right thing.
Paul, be careful accusing others of adultery, if your accusations prove false, that opens you up to potential defamation(libel) suit.
What is the issue is your behavior as an elected official. You have done this to yourself, no one made you drink and drive, no one made you write bad checks, all your troubles were crafted entirely by you and you alone. To me, it is almost like you are still some kind of “frat boy” hoping daddy and mommy will bail you out.
You are a man, and will be held accountable for your own actions, you should act like a man, apologize to all and resign.
Newt Gingrich did far far less and he resigned. Are you somehow better than Newt?
looks like once again Mr. Lindeman can’t face the heat… people call him out and he runs and hides… Glad to know what kind of councilman we really have here.
