SENTINEL CHOOSES NOT TO PUBLISH SANFORD’S ‘WITHIN OUR MEANS’
Just over a week after he admitted an extramarital affair with a woman from Argentina, Gov. Mark Sanford has lost his previously-unknown book deal with the conservative publishing company Sentinel.
“Sentinel has agreed to release [Sanford] from his contract to write a book about fiscal conservatism, which was to be called ‘Within Our Means’ and was scheduled for publication in March 2010,” said Adrian Zackheim, president and publisher of Sentinel. “This is a mutual decision. We wish Governor Sanford the best.”
The book was set to be released as part of Sentinel’s their Spring 2010 catalog. It was reportedly finished and proofs had already been sent out to be printed.
It is unknown whether Sanford will shop the book elsewhere or if that is even legally possible.
There are, however, already rumors of a “tell-all” book about Sanford’s relationship with Maria Belen Chapur, with whom he cheated on his wife Jenny. There is no doubt that book would far outsell his previous work.
