CLIP OF SANFORD’S ARGENTINIAN MISTRESS FROM 9/11 REPORTING

A video of the woman alleged to be Gov. Mark Sanford’s Argentinian mistress has made its way to YouTube Friday.

The clip is from 2001 when Maria Belen Chapur was a reporter for a television station in Buenos Aires covering the 9/11 terrorist attacks live from New York City.

Chapur, 43, is confirmed to be the woman with whom Sanford had been cheating on his wife for at least a year.

I’m not sure what exactly she is saying in the grainy clip because my Spanish is about as good as Sanford’s use of short, concise sentences in his emails to Chapur.

Sanford made international headlines this week when, after disappearing for nearly a week, he admitted that he had gone to Argentina to visit Chapur.

UPDATE: Bill Folks with the FITSNews blog now says the photos of Chapur that were published yesterday by the “News Bizarre” were actually of a Buenos Aires artist unlucky enough to be named Maria Elisa Chapur.
