DESPITE CLEAR EVIDENCE, SUCCESSFUL PROSECUTION, OBAMA MOVES TO DISMISS CASE ON B.S. TECHNICALITY
When three members of the New Black Panther Party were arrested on Election Day 2008 for allegedly trying to threaten voters — both verbally and physically — at a Philadelphia polling place, it seemed like a pretty clear violation of the Voting Rights Act.
Numerous eyewitness reports (including the video above) say one man held a nightstick that he pointed at voters while hurling racial threats. Prosecutors also said he “supports racially motivated violence against non-blacks and Jews.”
But now, the Obama Administration is pushing to have the charges dropped on a B.S. technicality, despite the fact that the government already won the case against the men.
Yeah… seriously. And not surprisingly, it has a few people pretty pissed off.
The Voting Rights Act is very clear. It prohibits any “attempt to intimidate, threaten or coerce” any voter or those aiding voters.
The explanation for moving to dismiss the case is shocking. According to the Department of Justice: “These same Defendants have made no appearance and have filed no pleadings with the Court. Nor have they otherwise raised any other defenses to this action. Therefore, the United States has the right … to dismiss voluntarily this action against the Defendants.” In other words, because the defendants haven’t tried to defend themselves, the Justice Department won’t punish them.
By that logic, if a murderer doesn’t respond to the charges, he should be let free. That’s crazy.
The Obama Justice Department did take one action against one of the four defendants: It forbade him from again “displaying a weapon within 100 feet of any open polling location” in Philadelphia. Given that it already was illegal to display a weapon at a polling place and that he was not even enjoined from carrying a weapon at polling places outside of Philadelphia, it is hard to see what this order accomplished. [Washington Times]
These scumbags are no better than the segregation-era whites that suppressed minority voters. And President Obama is no better than the Jim Crow governors that allowed it to happen.
And now that the Black Panther types know they can get away with threatening voters, it’s only a matter of time before they turn out in large numbers to act as “poll security” — only next time they’ll be carrying something a little more “intimidating” than a nightstick.

What’s the long-term implication of this failure to prosecute?
According to a well-established axiom of modern psychology, “Behavior is a function of its consequences.” In other words, people, in general, tend to not duplicate behavior for which there is punishment … and they are inclined to repeat behavior for which there is little or no punishment particularly without regard to its moral, ethical, or legal acceptance.
In effect, our current DOJ now appears to encourage voter intimidation. Future elections may be quite different than those we’ve enjoyed for the last 40 years.

They’re just your resident loonies spouting off nonsense. Do any of the passerbys look intimidated? It’s practically the same thing as a crazy homeless person harassing people outside of supermarkets.
It’s HILARIOUS! They should have had a tin can out so people could tip them. Makes voting ENTERTAINING!
This wasn’t funny. These bastards should have been hauled off. The fact that Obama is ok with this speaks volumes about him. He should be impeached for this alone.
im sorry i cant hear you over your neckfat
If only they stationed Black Panther guards outside of Dunkin Donuts to intimidate you away.
Okay, supporters of voter intimidation … are you really okay with the KKK carrying nightsticks outside voting polls?
To what end do you want this ordeal to escalate?
Do you really want to open THIS Pandora’s box?
