PITTSBURGH HEAD TO STANLEY CUP FINALS, CAROLINA FACES TOUGH QUESTIONS
A promising season came to a disappointing end Tuesday night for the Carolina Hurricanes, as they were swept out of the NHL’s Eastern Conference Finals.
The Hurricanes lost four straight games to the Pittsburgh Penguins by a combined score of 20-9, culminating in Tuesday night’s 4-1 loss.
“This hurts. It doesn’t feel good, especially being swept in the third round,” said Carolina forward Eric Staal. “That’s never nice. It just doesn’t feel nice right now.”
The Penguins now head to the Stanley Cup Finals while the Hurricanes will take the offseason to reflect and answer some tough questions.
