FORMER BEAUTY QUEEN SORT OF GRADUATED COLLEGE, STILL GETTING ATTENTION
The good folks at WIS-TV decided to catch up with my girl Lauren Caitlin Upton over the weekend.
You may know her as Miss Teen South Carolina 2007, but I just call her LCU.
And judging by the interview — which looked like it was conducted at some kind of dog shelter only moments after Upton woke up from a nap — the former beauty queen is still her same old self.
“I just recently finished college at Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C. and I plan on going out to [Los Angeles] just to meet with some of the modeling agencies out there and plan for my future,” Upton said.
But moments later, the former Miss Teen SC told the WIS reporter, “Hopefully if I get out to L.A., I’ll be able to travel some and model and act and eventually go back to school out there after I finish school at Appalachian State.”
Umm… okay. So she’s graduated but still finishing school? Got it.
As for her infamous Miss Teen USA pageant meltdown, Upton said she still gets a lot of attention.
“Just about every single day I get somebody coming up to me and they’re like, ‘hey, you’re that Miss South Carolina girl’ and I’m like ‘no, I’m not Miss South Carolina Teen USA 2007 girl,’” Upton said, noting the experience was more of an adventure than an embarrassment.
But when asked about transcribing even small parts of Upton’s interview, yours truly remarked, “it’s both an adventure and an embarrassment.”
As for how the Miss Teen incident took place, Upton called it an “outer body experience” and said, “whenever the girl asked me the question, I was just kind of thinking to myself, ‘yeah I got this, I’m winning, this is awesome’ and I wasn’t even listening to the question. The only words I heard were like maps and the U.S. and from what I could remember and I just kind of was speaking before I actually put a sentence together.”
Yep… she was speaking before she put a sentence together. You know, kind of like the entirety of the WIS interview.
pretty sure she meant finished for the year….you said “graduated”, not her.

OK, so this chick is dumb as a post. She’s also hot as hell. Would she be more admirable if she were dumb and ugly? She’s working with what God gave her and becoming a model. If W. Bush had done the same, he’d be a retired used car salesman and we’d all be a lot better off.
ahh i will marry this girl one day i hated pagents ever since i was little and i was watching some screw ups on youtube about the price is right and i saw her and giggles about how cute she was. ahhh tell her to call me k thanks <3
The world can always use more pole dancers. Sadly, she is not the dumbest girl in South Carolina. She is probably about average.
that poor girl, There’s stuff everywhere on this, I never watch those pageant things but there was a video of it on you tube so i clicked it, can’t believe all the people making fun of this. Whenever I’m in front of a big group of people I screw up talking, and its no where near the size she was in front of, not to mention TV. Then, how do you answer such a dumb question like that, I mean what U.S. citizen can’t locate the U.S. on a map other than people under the age of 5. I just had to get that out, so many people making such a big deal out of it, that’s very dumb.
