DREXEL LAST SEEN APRIL 25, AUTHORITIES FOCUSING SEARCH AROUND U.S. 17

The mother of a New York teen who went missing in Myrtle Beach two weeks ago fears her daughter may be dead.

Dawn Drexel told WHEC-TV in Rochester, N.Y. that her 17-year-old daughter Brittanee, who disappeared from the Bar Harbor Hotel on April 25, would never run away and that, “I seriously think someone took my daughter or she may not be alive.”

Drexel, a high school junior, left the hotel that night at 8 p.m. to meet a friend named Peter Broswick, who was with a group of male friends at the nearby Blue Water Resort.

Authorities believed Broswick may have been the last person to see Drexel, but cleared he and some of his friends as suspects.

Attempts to trace Drexel’s cell phone led 30 miles south of Myrtle Beach along U.S. 17, where officials are now focusing their search.

Anyone with information is asked to call Myrtle Beach Police at (843) 918-1300, 1-800-CRIME-TV or 1-800-THE-LOST (843-5678).

Friends and family have also created a website at www.HelpFindBrittanee.com.

I do not want to sound insensitive but if my 17 year daughter left to go out of state or anywhere for that matter without my permission I would be doing something about it. I promise you she would not have spent one night in mrytle beach.I would have called the cops and had them hold her in custody until I arrived. There is NO excuse why her parents allowed her to stay there when she was told no. I read that she was stressed and needed to get away, HELLO she is 17. I pray to god that she is alive because I as a parent would feel I was at fault after allowing her to be there after she was told no.So for the parents you need to think long and hard what you did to her.
