COUNTRY STAR PACKS COLISEUM FOR FIRST LOWCOUNTRY SOLO SHOW

Sadly, I didn’t make it to the Lowcountry Thursday night to see my one true love, country music star Taylor Swift, pack out the North Charleston Coliseum.

But I was there in spirit. Thankfully, so too was the Charleston City Paper, who said Taylor’s performance was “worth every penny.”

Swift started the show “You Belong With Me,” outfitted in a band leader uniform through most of the song until ripping it off to reveal the first of several glittering, skinny dresses she would wear during the night.

The set design, white stairs and platforms projecting different backgrounds for each number, was put to good use — shifting from high school lockers in the opening number to library shelves in “Teardrops on My Guitar,” and on and on until thunderclouds for the final number.

Obviously excited to be spotlighting the music off of her new album Fearless (released in November), the energy on stage really seemed to climb for the new stuff. The standout performance was “You’re Not Sorry” (a scorned lover ballad we’ve got new respect for) that bled into a cover of Justin Timberlake’s similarly themed “What Goes Around … Comes Around.”

Normally, this is where I talk about what a special relationship Taylor and I share, and how our love is undying and all that stuff.

But I’m not going to do that, because she knows what we have… and that’s all that matters. Forget all you doubters.

Oh, also, Kelly Pickler and someone called Gloriana opened the show and the City Paper said they were good too. Just saying…

We saw her perform with Def Leppard in Hi-Def DD 7.1, very talented, attractive and we are pretty much suckers for women that can pull off a skirt and cowboy boots…

What about Elton John! He has sold about 200 million more records than Swift, AND recently rocked Charlotte. But I don’t see you doing any posts on him. Be fair.

beautiful singing voice and beautiful face now that is a perfect combination. Taylor Swift must have been the luckiest girl on earth.
