POST COMMENTS, THOUGHTS, EXPERIENCES ON THE TPS FORUM
Thousands of Americans will venture out today to take part in Tax Day Tea Party protests to show their concern for an out-of-control, growing government.
This grassroots conservative movement is truly unlike anything that has happened in recent memory. And have no doubt, leaders from Washington to Columbia will be watching and listening.
To help make sure they get the message, The Palmetto Scoop and hundreds of other media organizations will be covering local events live. But we can’t be everywhere.
So I encourage everyone going to an event — and even those who can’t make one — to join in on the “Tax Day Tea Party Open Thread” over on the TPS forum. Just click here to take part.
Also, please email any photos or links to videos to editor@palmettoscoop.com and I’ll post them here.
For information on Tea Party events near you, go to SCTeaParty.com or TaxDayTeaParty.com.

You must have a short memory since you are just a kid out of College.
No doubt you never heard of the mass anti-war movement during the Nam era to end a unconstitutional war! If this phony movement by the GOP, Fox Network, Looney Glen Beck is impressing you. This country is in much bigger trouble than we thought!
It was ok I guess. I’d love to know where this anti-authoritarian sentiment was 2 or 4 or 6 years ago when Bush was building the Federal Throne upon which Obama now sits.
I liked Sanfords speech the best. Of the lot of them he was the only one that went beyond ordinary republican talking points to the crux of the matter; that the culmination of this stumulus/socialism/debt buisness is inflationary destruction of the dollar followed by the entire economy.
I left when the fair tax dude was speaking. Not a fan. It’s a slightly more efficient way of doing the same terrible thing as the income tax, and would have no impact on what really needs to change, which is over spending. The correct solution is to cut government back to the budget it had in the late 90’s and eliminate the income tax completely.
[...] House during lunch. A large crowd was on hand (I am bad at guessing numbers but thousands). These “Taxes Enough Already Parties” are rallies going on across the Country as a civil protest to government spending and specifically [...]
Has a single teabagger offered to return his tax cut from the stimulus to DC, or all they all making over $250K?
The Un-Governor said that the crowd was bigger than the teacher’s protest, that just goes to show just how out of touch he really is, doesn’t have a clue what it’s like to have a job!! The Teachers have to work!!! They can’t go out and play with the cameras like our Un-Gov. I have never seen anyone who loves the camera or HIMSELF more than our Un-Governor. Lord have mercy on us.
So looking at the State House pictures it looks as though there were say 300 people, average age 55 and white. Yea definitely Republican demographic for SC.
A lot of folks with god and abortion banners. Not really what the rally was to be about, so lets assume they may not have come had it truly been about spending.
Not sure this is unlike anything I have seen. In fact I think there were about 15 to 20 times that number at the grand opening of the new Ikea store in Charlotte. But if it makes conservatives feel warm and fuzzy, that’s nice.
Hey folks! I went to rally at the state house today and two weeks ago and 6 years ago against the war. This rally was VERY different.
Don’t argue about the numbers, the political make-up, or skin color. It’s about fiscal responsibility and the people who are paying the taxes are going to do something about it. Wake up. The Revolution as started.
