SC DEPT. OF ARCHIVES AND HISTORY AUCTIONING CIVIL WAR ERA CASH FROM STATE BANK ON EBAY
Have you ever heard anyone tell you that something was more worthless than Confederate money? Well, hopefully you didn’t listen to them because the former currency of Dixie is making a comeback.
My fellow bloggers over at the Cotton Boll Conspiracy have picked up on a few eBay auctions by the State Department of Archives and History selling Confederate cash issued by the Bank of the State of South Carolina.
The currency ranges from $5 and $10 bills to fractional currency, including notes as small as 5 cents. Bidding on some items ends today, while others last into next week.
The currency features national and South Carolina historical figures. The five-dollar note, for example, features portraits of South Carolina US Senator John C. Calhoun.
A four dollar bill (note: four dollar bill?) featuring Fort Moultrie, Robert Hayne, and Langdon Cheves sold yesterday for $338. For those of you educated in or around Dillon County, that’s 84.5 times it’s marked value. For those of you wishing to snag some of the Confederate dough, there are still a few notes up for auction over the next couple of days.

Stupid dumb Rednecks still chasing worthless paper currency like Obama Democrats
