SCGOP CHAIR FIRES AT RNC CHAIR FOR FIRING AT LIMBAUGH

Controversy continues to brew over popular conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh’s statement that he hoped President Barack Obama’s social spending programs fail. And now it has sucked in a second South Carolina Republican.

Last week, Gov. Mark Sanford became the first Republican to challenge Limbaugh on the statement, calling him “an idiot.” Limbaugh quickly and potently responded, noting that Sanford is “a politician” and “they’ve got to say things in different ways.”

Then yesterday, Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele joined Sanford by saying that Limbaugh’s comments were “ugly” and “incendiary.” That, then, drew South Carolina GOP Chair Katon Dawson’s ire.

“There are 13.5 million reasons why I wouldn’t kick an 800-pound conservative gorilla in the knee,” Dawson, who ran against Steele in January for the RNC chair post, told Human Events. “Rush speaks for millions of conservatives and the liberal banter is against him 100%. There isn’t a whole lot of disagreement with him among conservatives.”

I’m thinking those 13.5 million reasons happen to be Limbaugh’s total number of daily listeners. Either that, or the number of television appearance Sanford will be making this afternoon.

Rush *is* just a partisan entertainer; I cite as evidence his lack of spine when Bush was busy not being (fiscally) conservative for 8 years.

Well you better get to work Dawson! There are over 300 million Americans out there who couldn’t care less about Russ or his unreality view of poltics. Frankly, one should toss a Banana at the big fat Monkey to keep down his hard on view of himself……..Russ reminds one of a Monkey in the Zoo who wacks his Mr Johnson all day thinking he is winning a battle with a small Snake……….

Katon might consider being more graceful vis a vis the guy who defeated him fair and square in the RNC race. After all, Steele didn’t pound him for being in an all-white golf club for years, and only quitting when he knew he’d be going national.

Katon does as he is told, cannot formulate a thought on his own, and will do anything at all for political gain.

Sounds like you a little bit McFogle.

Steele is fighting an uphill battle to bring back the party, precisely because of morons like Dawson.

Dawson has always defended the RINO ultra-right loud mouths who insist that they are the base of the party because they can whine and cry the loudest. The painful truth is they could care less about any party, save their one or two pet issues. The flag and immigration seem to be the only things this crowd cares about. Like a druling, creepy Gollum cowaring over its precious, these idiots have no idea what a national party requires, no concept of unity.

Steele should have had harsher words for Limbaugh. He needs to shut-up and quit harming the party. He and hannity have done nothing except enrich themselves at the expense of the GOP. They ridicule moderate republicans that were the bedrock of the party for the past 60 years. Thanks to them we can’t win a single race in New England. Their only goal is to rattle the cage of the angry white man and boost ratings (ad revenue) in the process. It’s entertainment people, plain and simple. Stop pretending that Rush is a principled crusader for truth and justice.

Dawson might in fact be a woman. When his leadership was desperately needed at the SC-GOP he turned his back on the President (the leader of our party) and sided with these RINO morons, rejecting real immigration reform. The result of which would have created a GOP majority here for the next thirty years. Best of all the price was simply passing a bill that respected immigrants. That of course is just not something these biggots can tolerate. Instead we eagerly helped push the latino vote into the arms of the democratic party.

Why? Pure, plain unadulterated cowardice and stupidity. The GOP is in complete disaray and we have men like Katon Dawson to thank for it.

Then you clearly didn’t listen or pay attention to what he said during those 8 years. Because if you had, you would have heard his criticism of 1) the ridiculous Education bill, 2) the outrageous farm package 3) the shamnesty insanity (thanks Lindsey, McCain), 4) the TARP madness….among others.

If you actually listened to Rush you would have heard him call GWB a “moderate” and not a conservative. He frequently took GWB to task for not being a fiscal conservative.

It’s funny to see people critical of Rush who clearly don’t even listen to him.

Joe is right. Rush has always been pretty consistent, that anyone except the ultra right is either unpatriotic, evil, or stupid. We all need listen to him more. Just think how much better off the Country and the Republican Party would be today if we had listened to Rush on drug laws.

“Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country. And we have laws against selling drugs, pushing drugs, using drugs, importing drugs. And the laws are good because we know what happens to people in societies and neighborhoods, which become consumed by them. And so if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up.

What this says to me is that too many whites are getting away with drug use. Too many whites are getting away with drug sales. Too many whites are getting away with trafficking in this stuff. The answer to this disparity is not to start letting people out of jail because we’re not putting others in jail who are breaking the law. The answer is to go out and find the ones who are getting away with it, convict them and send them up the river, too.

and lock drug addicts away and throw away the key. After all they are all weak mnded folks blaming the drugs not themselvs for their problem. He does not talk about that much anymore.

    Another uninformed non-listener.
