SC BRACES FOR ANOTHER WINTER STORM

For the second time this year, South Carolina is bracing for a snowstorm.

Meteorologists are predicting three to six inches of the white stuff in the Upstate, with one to three inches in the Midlands as rain turns to snow around midnight and will likely last through 7 a.m. Monday.

The state Department of Transportation is rolling out a fleet of snowplows and officials are advising folks to stay home unless they absolutely must travel.

Schools and government agencies across the state have already announced they will be closed or delay opening on Monday. For a listing in Upstate, click here, for the Midlands, click here.

The last measurable snowfall in South Carolina occurred on Inauguration Day, Jan. 20. That storm produced less than an inch of snow in the Midlands and Lowcountry and slightly more in other parts of the state.
