CONGRESSMAN PUTS COMMUNICATION CREW ON TAXPAYER TAB
South Carolina Congressman Gresham Barrett yesterday added his likely gubernatorial campaign consultants to the growing list of organizations he has helped bail out with taxpayer money.
Barrett announced that B.J. Boling would be joining his Congressional office as his new communications director and Emily Tyner would be coming on board as press secretary.
The funny thing is, Boling and Tyner were previously employed by Starboard Communications and Jim Dyke & Associates, respectively. Conveniently, those are the two firms Barrett has hired to handle his likely gubernatorial campaign next year.
So why move these two individuals into his Congressional office? Salary.
Both Boling and Tyner are highly talented and thus well-paid. And when there is an option to help save a little money by unloading that cost onto the taxpayer, why not?

Adam, I’m willing to bet that if Henry McMaster offered you a slot on his payroll, you’d do it in a heartbeat.
On a lighter note, I’m waiting to see if his change of staff will result in a reduction in the quantity of emails that he blasts out?
Adam, Good story. Although, I know for a fact that if you dig deeper, you will find more. GB’s entire Washington office appears to be representing more than SC’s 3rd Congressional District.
Barrett has a train wreck coming straight at him, but he doesn’t see it yet…. so he NEEDS these people.
haha well at least we now have proof that Barrett is going to lose.
putting your campaign staff on salary in your congressional office is just golden. Thanks Gresh!!!
See you in a month!
Hasn’t anyone here ever heard of Trey Walker?
Trey Walker? Is he the same as Edgar H. Walker?
Adam, I’d like to know more. Can you investigate this one as well?
Thanks.
