CLYBURN PLAYS RACE CARD ON GOVERNORS OPPOSED TO OBAMA’S MASSIVE SOCIALIST PROGRAM
In an act that pundits are calling slightly more shocking than that time your grandmother watched “Matlock,” Congressman James Clyburn fought back against widespread criticism of President Barack Obama’s massive socialist spending program. During a Clyburn a roundtable meeting on the law’s impact on South Carolina, Clyburn said opponents were being, you’ll never guess… racists.
He said not only would it create jobs, but also repair roads and bridges around the state. Clyburn also had some strong comments for Gov. Mark Sanford on why he thinks he opposed the stimulus.
“The governor of Louisiana expressed opposition. Has the highest African-American population in the country. Governor of Mississippi expressed opposition. The governor of Texas, and the governor of South Carolina. These four governor’s represent states that are in the black belt. I was insulted by that,” Clyburn said. “All of this was a slap in the face of African-Americans. It had nothing to do with Governor Sanford.”[WIS]
There are really only two things that Clyburn does well in Congress: Spend lots of taxpayer money on pet projects, and play the race card. And, in this case, he’s absolutely right. Obviously, when these Republican “black belt” governors were deciding whether or not to support the spending plan, they thought, “Normally, I would support a program to waste trillions of dollars and exponentially grow government, but I’m going to oppose it because I don’t like black people.”

How did refusing the stimulus bill become racist? The new bill doesn’t have any funds for areas devastated by Katrina. Does that mean the president is racist? Insane.
It all evens out in the end. For every time Clyburn plays the race card you can just pull out your equally nonsensical socialist card. I love how you people scream socialism when in reality it has nothing at all to do with socialism..keep on truckin though.

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
TO PROVIDE THAT PURSUANT TO HR-1 OF 2009, THE AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT OF 2009, THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY ACCEPTS THE USE OF FEDERAL STIMULUS FUNDS PROVIDED TO THIS STATE IN THIS ACT IF THE GOVERNOR OF SOUTH CAROLINA WITHIN THE REQUIRED FORTY-FIVE DAY PERIOD FAILS TO CERTIFY THAT HE WILL REQUEST AND USE THESE FUNDS FOR THIS STATE AND THE AGENCIES AND ENTITIES THEREOF IN THE MANNER PROVIDED IN THE FEDERAL ACT, AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE MANNER OF DISTRIBUTION OF THESE FUNDS.
Whereas, in Section 1115 of HR-1 of 2009, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, the Congress of the United States has provided as follows:
“(a) CERTIFICATION BY GOVERNOR. – Not later than 45 days after the date of enactment of this Act, for funds provided to any State or agency thereof, the Governor of the State shall certify that the State will request and use funds provided by this Act.
(b) ACCEPTANCE BY STATE LEGISLATURE. – If funds provided to any State in any division of this Act are not accepted for use by the Governor, then acceptance by the State legislature, by means of the adoption of a concurrent resolution, shall be sufficient to provide funding to such State.
