SHERIFF MIGHT CHARGE PHELPS FOR POT SHOT
Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott (above with all the bling) has decided to cash in on some national love by possibly pursuing criminal charges against Olympic champion Michael Phelps, who was seen in recently-released pictures allegedly smoking pot in Columbia.
Lott told the New York Post that he will charge Phelps with a crime if he is able to determine the 14-time Olympic gold medalist smoked marijuana in his jurisdiction.
“This case is no different than any other case,” Lott told the Post. “This one might be a lot easier since we have photographs of someone using drugs and a partial confession. It’s a relatively easy case once we can determine where the crime occurred.” [FOX News]
Lott is by all accounts a great guy. And he does a good job as sheriff. But is this possible?
I’m not exactly a lawyer, but I’m guessing a picture of Phelps holding a bong to his mouth isn’t quite enough evidence. Of course, he didn’t exactly help his case by admitting that he smoked. At the very least, Phelps needs to fire his PR people.
Sheriff Lott is the coolest ‘uncool’ sheriff ever.
Awesome I have a lot of pictures of underage kids drinking and one of me jaywalking. I think if I look hard enough I can find some pictures of kids smoking weed on facebook. Is that what this is coming down to?

Michael Phelps’ job was to be a role model for the rest of us slacker/whiners.
