HEAD BALL COACH COWERS TO NEW KID ON THE BLOCK

I don’t mean to be too blunt about this, but whomever decided to steal South Carolina Head Ball Coach Steve Spurrier’s cojones needs to immediately return them to the Athletic Department at the Blatt PE Center in Columbia. I mean immediately.

The Gamecocks have a huge bowl game in less than two weeks — the first New Years Day game since 2001 — and there is no time for Spurrier to totally wuss out to a wet-behind-the-ears rival coach thirty years his junior.

Spurrier again took the high road, failing Sunday to return verbal fire toward Tennessee and new coach Lane Kiffin.

Kiffin said Saturday he didn’t care if he ruffled feathers by plucking assistant coaches from Spurrier’s staff at South Carolina. (Quarterbacks coach David Reaves and strength coach Mark Smith so far.)

Kiffin, the 33-year-old hired Dec. 1 to replace Phillip Fulmer, also let Spurrier know he got a 39 out of 40 on his NCAA certification test.

The backstory there: Prior to Kiffin’s formal introduction, Spurrier had wondered out loud whether Kiffin had taken the test to be able to recruit.

“I’d like to see what he got,” Kiffin said Saturday.

So what’d the Ball Coach get?

“I have always passed it,” said Spurrier, the 63-year-old Florida graduate. “Nah, I know he’s smarter than me. There’s no question about that. I barely graduated from college. I know I’m not the smartest guy out there. No big deal.” [Charleston Post and Courier]

Pardon my French, but this is a load of friggin’ horse crap. Spurrier needs to man the hell up and call Kiffin out.

Why is it that he is willing to publicly rip on his players, but when it comes to standing up to this pipsqueak he runs away like a little girl? I’m dying to know… somebody please tell me.

I bet it has something to do with Kiffin’s illegally hot wife. I knew that evil, beautiful Siren would be the death of every SEC team.

Kiffin hasn’t even coached a game yet and it’s already happening. I knew it.
