The Grammys 2022: Black Coffee Clinches Award – See The Full List Of Winners

Celebrated South African disc jockey and producer Black Coffee got his first-ever Grammy nod at the 64th Grammy Awards held in Las Vegas over the weekend. It was a memorable win, and the champ was more than happy to acknowledge it.

The songster had stormed the stage with his son wearing similar outfits. He’d collected his award, handed it over to his son, and then gave a short speech.

Black Coffee isn’t the first South African to win a Grammy Award, but he’s the first Mzansi DJ and producer to do so. In a tweet soon after his award, he’d give himself a title many covet but have not been able to obtain – Grammy Award-winning artist.

Black Coffee, who has a partially paralysed hand, is one of South Africa’s most decorated DJs. He moves from one country to another for shows with the same ease as local musos from Randburg to Randburg.

His influence on the music scene is so significant that he’s called God’s over own. Maybe his Grammy Award win has further amplified that claim. Some solidarity.
