WEBSITE LAUNCHED TO ENCOURAGE SC GUV TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT, COUNTER-WEBSITE NEEDED URGENTLY

There’s a new Website that popped up overnight compelling Republicans to draft South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford to run for president in four years.

“Washington is fundamentally broken. Wasteful government spending is out of control, politicians are promising to spend trillions of dollars we don’t have, and we continue to lose liberties and creep closer towards socialism,” a letter on the home page of the site reads. “We therefore urge you to consider running for President of the United States in 2012.”

I think most conservatives would agree with the first sentence, but the conclusion is more absurd than that episode of Fresh Prince of Bel Air when Carlton cuts the bacon out of the BLT sandwiches at the cafe. When the customers complain, he points to sign that says “Bread, Lettuce and Tomato.” Oh man, that was absurd.

Little is known about the perpetrators of this unnecessary Website, but I would put money on Starboard Communications. The site is registered through BlueHost, which the firm uses for other sites, and the launch conveniently came only days after Starboard operative Eliot Peace wrote a column titled “Sanford 2012.”

Regardless, I think someone with a lot more time than me needs to create a “Don’t Draft Sanford Ever” Website. It doesn’t have to be much, maybe just that awesome banner picture I just Photoshopped and below it a link to this page. Yup, that’s about all it would take because that page is basically a compendium of why Sanford would make a pretty horrifying president.

If Sanford paid RQA, then this website would be mandatory on everyone’s favorites list.

We’ll definitely be agreeing on this one, ugh – Sanford 2012 what a nightmarish thought. The site looks a lot like his campaign site for when he was running for guv, the color scheme is the same.

He has been running for president since 1999…can this be a surprise to anyone?

    He sucks.

He really, really sucks. So he might just win.

Awww Adam, you poor baby. He’s like the main Republican that you’re supposed to say bad stuff about.

Why don’t you tell us who we’re supposed to like instead of telling us who not to like?
Well anyone *except* for Sarah Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho Palin.

You’re right. Why would we want a politician with integrity and fiscal responsibility. Careless spending and pandering has done such a good job at the federal, state and local levels around the country.

I don’t think you have to worry, he doesn’t kiss GOP ass enough. Having a mind of your own doesn’t seem to work in politics today.

He is not qualified. Carrying pigs around didn’t help either.

The creator of the infamous EvacuateHodges.com website would like to cast a vote on this matter.

Since Sanford has shown himself so able to go postal within his state, he should not go national. Not only do I say no, I say *?#@ no!

    Adam,

Thanks for giving the Draft Sanford site some coverage – I hadn’t seen it before you posted this link.

    I signed up today.

    Sincerely,
    Joshua

    B-)

For those who missed the last article bashing Sanford, I’ll re-post. LouLou, again, thanks for an non-intelligent post. He is not qualified? Please explain.

Fogle, When I read your bio and it says you are a life long conservative, I have to question that. You sit here and prop up centerists like McCain and fight against true “conservatives” like Sanford.

So, how much did RQA have to pay you to forget your life-long “conservatism” and start this blog????

    Below is my last post:

What’s the jab here Fog-meister? Palin is a joke, right?

Sanford understands that the Republican Party and Conservatives are in need of leadership from a person of substance (For instance, someone who stands up to his good ole boy state legislature b/c it acts in opposition to conservative principles on a daily basis). The problem with Palin (not unlike Obama) is that her appeal comes from non job-related attributes, not from substance.

I mean, wake up. What has the state legislature done for SC lately besides making sure good people like Nikki Haley wouldn’t have a chance to change things? What has your boy Dawson done lately besides quiting his whites-only hangout 2 months before running for RNC chair though it didn’t bother him for the 12 years prior to that? What has your boy McMaster done lately besides find nothing wrong with Howard Rich’s deceptive campaign contribution method?

I’d rather have someone as strong-willed and principle oriented as Sanford on my side anyday…

And loulou, “listing those same ole grumpy white men”??????

Loulou, honey, have you seen Bobby Jindal lately? At 37 years old and Indian American, he is about as far from your classification as Russia is from Palin’s backdoor…

    Adam-

As a poor, hungry law student, it would be nice to have the salary of a “Starboard Operative.” However, contrary to your assertion, there is no nefarious plan between Starboard and me, especially considering I haven’t worked there in two years. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt, since Townhall has the wrong bio up.

    Thanks for the link anyway.

    Cheers,

    Eliot
