FLASHBACKS FOR BILLS FANS AFTER 47-YARD FIELD GOAL TO WIN GAME SAILS WIDE RIGHT
I’ve lived in a number of places over the last few years, including an unfortunate, involuntary stint in Upstate New York. That makes me uniquely qualified to say that I hate everything about the Buffalo Bills.
From their miserable stadium to their constantly crappy players to their fairweather fans, I detest that team. So seeing the Bills repeat perhaps the worst moment in franchise history — Super Bowl XXV when kicker Scott Norwood missed a 47-yard field goal to lose the game — last night in front of millions on Monday Night Football was pure pleasure.
And when I say “repeat,” I mean, REPEAT. Because the circumstances were almost identical.
The Bills trailed by two points with moments left in the game (they were down one point in the Super Bowl). Kicker Rian Lindell set up for a 47 yarder from the left hash, just as Norwood did, and, just as Norwood did, he missed wide right.
Watching from the sidelines for all of this, just as he was for Norwood’s miss, was former quarterback Jim Kelly. Granted, last night game wasn’t quite as important as the Super Bowl, but it was still a key game for the 5-5 Bills. And they choked.

Wow…. that was a really nasty dig at WNY Mr. Fogle. You must have had a real bad experience up there.
