COME ROCK OUT WITH US AND SOME OF OUR FRIENDS
If you’ve wondered where I’ve been the last few months, I’ve been livin’ large over at SceneSC.com. It’s a music site I launched a few months back to cover South Carolina music and so far we’re kicking ass.
So to celebrate, I’m throwing a Kick Off Party tonight in Columbia. Here are the details from the Free-Times:
SceneSC.com Kickoff Party — Though it’s been up and running since July, local-music blog Scene SC officially throws its coming-out bash tonight, and it’s roped in some of this town’s most talented bands to play its party. Scene SC has been a great supporter of emotive rock outfit Marry a Thief, dance-rock ensemble This Machine is Me and pop-punk quintet The Decade, and each of the three returns the favor tonight; up-and-comers Amen the Animal and Ghosts of the Great Highway also play. Heads up: Scene SC curator David Stringer says to be on the lookout for a compilation disc in the coming months. P. Wall
New Brookland Tavern: 7:30 p.m., $5 ($7 under 21); 791-4413, newbrooklandtavern.com
This is only the beginning for Scene SC. We’ve got a whole bunch of things in the works like a compilation CD of SC’s Best Bands coming in January, video recordings of live shows, podcasts and a major site redesign. But it all starts with tonight official Kick Off extravaganza and I expect to see you all there.
Also, thanks to Adam for letting me use The Palmetto Scoop for free promotion.
