FMR PRES CANDIDATE’S ALLIES REPORTEDLY LEAKED NEGATIVE INFO TO PRESS TO BURY 2012 BID BY ALASKA GUV

The inevitable postmortem Monday morning quarterback analysis of John McCain’s defeated bid for the White House began unfolding mere hours after Democrat Barack Obama ascended to the presidency.

One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin.

I’m told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palin’s people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides.

The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romney’s former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin.

FOX News Channel reported Wednesday that some staffers intentionally leaked negative information to the media about Palin in the final hours of the campaign that painted the Alaska governor as naive, incompetent, and needy. And my sources said that all of those leaks came from the Romney faction of the McCain campaign.

But why would they want to bury the person for whom they were working?

Because they reportedly realized that, regardless of a McCain win or loss, Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016. And that made her a threat to a possible second run by Romney. You do the math.

Either way you look at it, it was dirty, irresponsible and unnecessary. And if they were willing to do that to Palin, just imagine what they did to McCain.

If Romney plans another shot at the presidency, I hope he fails as miserably as he did the first time.

    McFogle says:

“But why would they want to bury the person for whom they were working?”

Who would know better than you?

Wooooo! It’s time for the blame game!

Of course this is the fault of one of the guys who failed to get the nomination half a year ago, duh!

Palin sucked. Get over it. McCain picked her hoping for a diamond in the rough, and just came back with a pile of rough.

Personally, I hope she does try to get the nomination though; that first republican primary debate is going to be comedy gold.

Funny how people who want the GOP to LOSE are out there telling us how rotten Palin is. You would think they would embrace her.

I don’t really think taking advice from our political enemies is such a good idea, so they can just shut the F*** up!

Palin was an authentic American who spoke her mind without testing the winds first. And that’s something that neither Obama nor Mitt Romney can ever say.

Great well documented sources. Too bad the people who have been named now have nothing to do with Romney. Are you sure this isn’t palin people trying to get you to lay a bomb for Romney?

Unnamed sources put the blame on Romney’s former staff. Actually my “unnamed sources say it was a leak by a vindictive Sarah Palin possessed by a witch who leaked this story to try to turn people against anyone who might be her opposition in 2012 including but not limited to Romney. I hear she is very upset with Bobby Jindal and wants him to step to the back of the Republican bus in four years. Now leave her alone and let her do what she does best, go shopping for clothes and calculate her per diems for her and the family for the campaign.

I felt like Palin sold her family to the GOP, putting them on display. Advertising McCain via Palin.
I felt like McCain didn’t know Palin, didn’t want to know Palin.
It’s quite easy to see the campaign push her “issues” and “problems” in lieu of speaking truth, which is not nearly enough people were sold on Republicans staying in power in the big house. ( THANK GOODNESS)

looks like Mike came out of his alternative universe to impart on us words of wise-a$$ness. But perhaps he’s right, I’m going to hold my tongue and just watch the fire fight between an idiot fundamentalist and a mormon robot and all parties in between. Good luck with y’alls “long night of the soul.”

What was worse, the lek or the fact that it is true?

I think one misconception is that Democrats would derive any glee at how close this person came to the presidency of our country.

I also think it is a misconception and a very cynical one, that REAL AMERICANS are uninformed, greedy, fundamentally illiterate power grabbers.

What is frightening is that these things + her total unawareness of world issues were allowed to stay private just to win an election. We narrowly avoided a disaster of major proportions.

    McFogle -

When did Nicolle Wallace and Steve Schmidt work for Mitt Romney?

And why don’t you name some names, since you apparently feel the need to continue to trash Romney? How about a little backup of this?

And even IF some Romney people had a hand in this, why hasn’t your boy - the Maverick - shown some character and intergrity (which he bragged about so often) and come out to defend her? His silence on this says he’s totally complicit, if not encouraging, of shifting the blame for his miserably failed campaign to her.

    Disgusting.

“palin spoke without testing the winds first” . You mean the wind that says if you are stupid, you should keep your mouth shut. I do “embrace Palin”- I hope she runs in 2012-I am sure it will make less work for those of us who worked for Obama this time. If the Republican party didn’t tear itself apart enough this time, an actual run by Palin would be sure to totally destroy the current party. I see a real Republican party rebuilding itself with decency and intelligence and then the crazy “base” Republicans starting their own Rightwing Conservative party. I’m looking forward to it- really!

Whenever all those “Christian” politico types can see beyond the pulpit that it’s fitting to remove the knives from each others’ backs and stop the foaming at the mouth, they might could then roll-up their sleeves and get to work… on rejoining and repairing America. Not like THAT’S gonna happen any time soon though! And 2012 really not all that far away.

Oh what the hay… let ‘em all do themselves in. Plenty of time for that!

“The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romney’s former staff was absorbed by McCain .”

    Are you kidding me?

Your alleged source has no idea what he is talking about. The truth is that very few (if any) high-or mid-level Romney staffers went to the McCain campaign. And those Romney staffers who did go worked their butts off for the McCain ticket.

The McCain-Palin campaign made some mistakes. Fine. All campaigns do. Stop trying to incite civil war.

You have no real source for this alleged story. You are making it up. You are nothing but a HACK and a biased Huckabee supporter.

    You disgust me.

There are no Romney people in senior roles at the McCain campaign. The idea that 80% of Romney’s staff went to work at the McCain campaign is absurd. Governor Romney was on TV defending Palin, even as other GOP’ers were criticizing her.

Didn’t think McFogle would give us names.

Just the usual made-up crap with no credibility whatsoever.

It’s pretty bad this country just elected a guy with felons, domestic terrorists, America haters, marxist professors and muslim extremists very prominent in shaping his political career (with no scrutiny whatsoever from the “media”) but as each day passes and the more I see how John McCain ran a ridiculously cartoonish and disorganized campaign (he stoop up more for Jeremiah Wright than he has for Sarah Palin after all), the less I’m upset he lost. Good riddance.

I don’t care who stabbed who in the back, that Palin woman is a frelling idiot who couldn’t pass a 7th grade civics exam, and the electorate darn well had a right to know before putting her in a position to poison John McCain to death and jump-start Armageddon.

Rumors About Romney Aides “Completely False”

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ebDsui6avk

Mike Galanos, CNN: “Katie, a report I read, help me out here on this one, Im not sure if you heard this, there was some Romney aides that now came into the McCain campaign and it was the Romney aides that began spreading the dirt about Sarah Palin and basically in a fight already to see who is going to lead the party in the future. Any truth to that?” Katie Connoly, Newsweek: Absolutely not. Not from what I know. I think that’s completely false.”

If Mitt Romney paid RQ&A, then it would be senior Thomspon staffers doing the leaking.

Hey PR… I love how the Newsweek (?) reporter queried in the video, see link again below, first says rumors are “completely false.” She then goes on to say, “If it happened, I know nothing about it.”

Let’s not let utter ignorance of a matter get in the way of a rush to judgments of “false,” eh?!

The ‘leakers’ are true American heroes. They got an upclose glimpse of just how dimwitted this fundamentalist nutjob truely is and warned us to beware!! Obviously, Palin scared the bejesus out of these folks seeing as though she was THISCLOSE to being elected a heartbeat away from the POTUS. Anyone who would still support her has to be insane or ignorant, or both.
BTW, I know how Romney operates — He’s slick. It probably IS his hand pulling these strings.

This looks more and more like Huckabee’s Evangelical Mafia work. God knows whether these “unnamed” sources are telling the truth and it looks more and more like a political hack job.Shame on anyone unwilling to go public in the name of the truth. With this kind of continued division among Republicans, look for the coronation of Obama in 2012 and beyond.

Romney was for a constitutional amendment defining marriage between a man and a woman. Blacks in liberal California voted in favor of that by 70%. Core conservative isuues could have kept Obama out of the Whitehouse.

Ray, if you’re waiting for some sort of mea culpa from McFogle on this one - or any of the myriad of other uncredible attacks and rumor mongering he’s engaged in - you’re in for a LONG wait.

He’s a joke, this blog is a joke and the one reason I check in from time to time is to see what latest nonsense he’s pushing. Bought and paid for, of course.

Does he stand for truth? LOL
