REPUBLICANS ANNOUNCE ELECTION NIGHT CELEBRATION IN COLUMBIA

South Carolina Republican Party Chairman Katon Dawson Saturday thanked the GOP faithful and invited them to join in an Election Night Victory Celebration at Hilton Columbia Center ballroom, 924 Senate Street, Columbia.

In an email to activists, Dawson said the event was “being held conjunction with Sen. Lindsey Graham’s re-election campaign, Congressman Joe Wilson’s re-election campaign, and other local Republican candidates” on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 7 p.m.

But how much celebrating will Republicans have to do?

There’s no doubt presidential nominee John McCain will carry the state, and Graham is expected to coast to re-election, but it would be truly be a night of merriment if McCain wins the White House and Wilson stomps out his despicable opponent Rob Miller. There are also a number of legislative races that state Republicans will be closely watching, hoping to squeak out victory.

The Palmetto Scoop will almost certainly be at the event and I’ll probably be “Live Twittering” for the entire day including photos, commentary and, of course, instant results.

Your “despicable opponent Rob Miller” post is simply you saying that Miller’s allies were lying about the taxes on Joe Wilson’s building. The Wilson campaign itself says they were telling the truth. Perhaps you should go to the trouble to fix your poorly researched, incorrect stories before you link back to them.

Nettie- let’s hope there is some kind of bar. Looks like it’s going to be a long night nationally.

Rob Miller has run a despicable campaign. He has tried to buy a seat in Congress. But worse he has tried to smear the good name of a great congressman. There was no tax story. The AP’s coverage of it was little more than Jim Davenport taking bait hook, line and sinker.

Rob Miller has no base of support in the district because his blind ambition is far from inspiring. If my mind serves me right, he actually admitted in the ETV debate that he left the Marines to pursue his personal political ambition.

Even the liberal at The State concede that Joe Wilson is a devoted public servant.

    Adam,

You are correct about Miller…he is Obama Jr…saying one thing, doing another.

The truth is just not apparent in hi campaign…to hear Miller tell it, he is the conservative candidate!

I hate to rain on anyone’s parade (especially mine) but I voted already so I could be a poll manager. The lines are long, and when you talk to these people – they are voting for the other side. I am really worried. I think that this state might go over. I didnt think it would happen in my lifetime.
I know you are just trying to give us all umm hope, but how do we explain these record numbers of people voting? Do you think we can maintain?

Is it true that Mt Pleasant is so liberal that we cannot get an office to support McCain and Palin here? Also, heard that the Michael Moore movies have been banned from all MP cinemas for the same reason….Where is my freedom of information, expression, and gathering?

Hmm…seems strange for MP. I always thought we were evening divided here. But, banning movies? Really???

Let’s vote TUESDAY!!!! Someone bring the pizza!!!!!

Do you people believe Joe Wilson doesn’t say one thing and do another? Do you believe Joe Wilson closely represents your values? Would you steal from me???

    “Hi, this is David

I’m calling today to ask you to not vote a straight Democratic ticket on Tuesday. If you do you will be supporting a candidate for Senate, that you probably wouldn’t like. This year’s Democratic Candidate for Senate refuses to support Barrack Obama. As Congressman, Jim Clyburn says on the radio, that he will not be voting for him. This year, Lindsey Graham is your better choice. He is supported by AME’s Bishop Preston Williams and Dr. Charles Jackson of Brooklyn Baptist Church On election day, please split your ticket and vote for Lindsey Graham. Paid for by Lindsey Graham for Senate”
