CONGRESSMAN DROPS FIRST AD OF CAMPAIGN

In an incredibly heated race for the 1st Congressional District, the incumbent is finally on television. Rep. Henry Brown today dropped a 30-second advertisement attacking his opponent Linda Ketner for being “too liberal.”

Of course, that was the obvious approach to take given that she is, well, way too liberal.

You could send Ketner and her Food Lion fortune to the Haight-Ashbury in San Francisco and all the stoned-out leftover hippies would be like, “whoa, dude, she’s like totally killin’ my gnarly buzz with some of that crazy leftist jive, man.” I’m serious, that’s a true story.

Anyway, it’s good to see Brown has finally acknowledged that’s he’s in trouble. Hopefully for him, it won’t be too late.

Just a minor stylistic note, but it’s improper to say that the ad was “dropped,” when you mean that the ad was released. In fact, “dropped” is the exact opposite of what you’re trying to say.

This isn’t the record industry. You are not Rick Ruben. Ads do not drop, unless they are actually being dropped, as in “McCain drops advertising in MI, CO, etc.”

Every commercial ” paid for by whoever” always is talking about what the other candidates believes.
Is there a reason not to state your own wonderful, glorious plans Politicans?
I want to hear YOUR plan from you not your opponent.
I want to hear YOUR OPPONENT’S plan from him or her NOT YOU>
And this applies to almost every single ad out there.
One of my first grader teachers, and probably ya’ll’s too, taught me to use my time wisely. If I am spending bucks on tv ads, I certainly would talk up ME ME ME and “”kill the other messenger “”with MY ideas and plans.
Why is every single thing negative?
I believe I have the answer … because nobody wants anybody to know the truth.
