NEWSPAPER BACKS GRAHAM, BROWN IN SC RACES; MCCAIN LEADS BY 11 STATE
I’ve got two scoops for the price of one here (price = free, as always).
First, the Myrtle Beach Sun News today endorsed Sen. Lindsey Graham and Rep. Henry Brown in their respective re-election bids, noting that “Too large a Democratic edge in the U.S. House and U.S. Senate would mean that massive new federal proposals get passed into law with too little scrutiny for defects and unintended consequences.”
The newspaper added, “Voters can expect both Brown and Graham to be effective advocates for South Carolina, even as they provide vital counterbalance against Democratic excess.”
And on the polling front, Republican White House hopeful John McCain currently holds an 11 point lead in South Carolina, according to Rasmussen Reports.
McCain’s 54-43 advantage is down slightly from some previous polls that placed him up as much as 19 percent, but it’s still a very strong indicator that South Carolina will likely be a blowout on Election Night.

Its time for South Carolina to wake up. Obama is on the way to victory and SC needs to embrace it, hope for the best, and stop expecting the worse. SC supported Bush in 2000 and 2004 by big margins, and what did it get us? Low wages, high unemployment rates, an exploding national debt, an enconomy in the cumps and international esteem at century low. I’ve never been a straight party voter, and will not likely ever be; but, its time to change horses for a while.
Republicans tout the partial nationalization of the banking system under their watch as a temporary measure in desparate times. OK, then changing leadership can be a temporary measure in desparate times.
