CONGRESSMAN KNOWS GOD, GOD LIKES OBAMA
At some point between the time he was studying under the tutelage of terrorist Bill Ayers and the time he was soaking up sermons from Rev. Jeremiah Wright saying “God Damn America” because we were behind 9/11 and we deliberately created AIDS, Democrat Barack Obama was anointed the Messiah. I wasn’t invited so I’m not entirely sure when the Christening occurred, but by all accounts it did happen.
So keeping with that theme, the South Carolina Political Director for Obama’s presidential campaign Clay Middleton sent an email to a large list of official government addresses telling them spread the Gospel of Obama at their local church.
Middleton instructed recipients to, “Please see the attached announcement… I ask that you share this information with others and encourage those in your respected communities to VOTE ABSENTEE.” The “announcement” was a letter from Rep. James Clyburn asking folks to “join me and millions of faith voters all across our great land in active and tireless support of Barack Obama.”
Clyburn didn’t really give a reason why voters should encourage others to support Obama, just that “I hold [a position] in the United States Congress [as] Chair of the House Democrats Faith Working Group” and that he went to seminary for a while. So, ergo, Clyburn speaks on behalf on God and can vouch that Obama is the Messiah, or something?
I don’t know, but whatever.
The most interesting thing about the email was to whom Middleton sent it. Since he put the entire recipient list in the “To” field for everyone to see, I noticed that almost all were official state and local government addresses.
On the list were hundreds of government addresses from every solidly Democratic county in the state (_____@_____countysc.com) as well as a number of sheriffs, auditors, treasurers, judges, clerks of court and county council members.
There’s nothing wrong with that, it’s just an interesting list of folks to send such a letter to, that’s all. Although anyone responding to his email from their government account is technically running afoul of state law.

I don’t see what the big deal is… both parties have used churches and church connections for years. At least he’s just asking these people to talk about Obama, instead of asking for church directories to use as special voter lists (like Bush did).
