SENATOR SAYS GOP PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN ‘STUPID’ NOT TO

While speaking to the Washington Post’s David Broder, Sen. Lindsey Graham expressed his frustration with the campaign of Republican John McCain and its holding back running mate Sarah Palin.

“I think they thought she needed time for briefings on the issues that were new to her,” he said. “This campaign will go down in history as stupid if they don’t unleash her now.”

And supporters like myself absolutely agree. It’s time to let Palin be Palin.

There’s no question McCain is hurting in the polls. But with more than 28 days remaining, this thing is far from over. And McCain can certainly still win as long as he stays focused and lets his vice presidential candidate do what she was picked to do — win over voters.

As long as she is kept overly-scripted and bottled up, though, that won’t happen. When they let her go, as they did at the Republican National Convention and at last Thursday’s debate, she shines.
