CNN is a joke

FOCUS GROUP SPLITS VOTES BETWEEN PALIN, BIDEN, YET O’BRIEN SAYS IT’S ‘OVERWHELMING’ FOR DEMS

I’ve ripped on MSNBC countless times for being the most biased liberal cable news channel of “the big three,” but let’s give CNN some credit there.

While pretty much every channel that covered Thursday’s vice presidential debate — except FOX News — went out and set up “focus groups” of mostly Democratic voters to call the debate for Joe Biden, CNN tried to do it the old fashioned way and actually find some independent and conservative voters to balance out the left wing. The only problem is, the producers apparently wrote the script ahead of time assuming an “overwhelming” Biden win.

“[Our group is] roughly broken down [into] registered Independents, registered Republicans, registered Democrats, so basically evenly,” said host Soledad O’Brien in a clip that has been posted on YouTube to live on forever in political hackery history. “Show of hands, who do you think won the debate?

“If you think Joe Biden won the debate, raise your hand please.” By my count, about 15 hands went up. Yet, without missing a beat, O’Brien fired off, “Okay, that looks overwhelming.”

She then asked, “If you think Sarah Palin won the debate, raise your hands.” This time I counted 13 people showing their support. But again, O’Brien quickly analyzed, “So, small hands. Joe Biden wins by a significant margin there.”

A significant margin? Really? Fifteen to 13 is “significant”? Unfortunately, a significant margin of the 70 million people who tuned into the debate did so on CNN and were forced to watch this garbage.

  1. Based on your count Biden won by a 7.1% margin. However you can’s see everyone from the clip, so it could be larger. I assume there were 30 participants. By my count we can only see 28. If the other two voted for Biden, he would have won by a 13.34% margin.

While I suppose one can debate the definition of significant, and while this was not a scientific poll by any measure, it happens to match up very well with the Rassmusen poll, which polled a much larger group, is scientific, and found an 8% margin for Biden in its poll on who won the debate.

    Statisticians find these numbers significant.

  2. Someone pu nch stupidgrad in the face. That was the worst reasoning ever, “if the other two that may have existed blah blah blah”. Your a fool. McFogle has this one right.
